Originally a summertime escape from the heat of the city, this century-old country house is perched high on the edge of a plateau where cooling winds and sweeping views of the valley below prevail. DK Design worked closely with the homeowners over several years to design and implement various improvements around multiple existing structures and stately, mature trees. The existing landscaped areas were updated and expanded, and a charming cutting garden, water feature, "micro vineyard" and al fresco dining area were added to complement and add functionality to the spaces immediately surrounding the residence. The pool area and pavilion were extensively furnished to serve as a flexible venue for family gatherings, parties and charity events.
